What Was I Love Lucy About?

If you haven’t watched I Love Lucy, you are missing a classic sitcom from 1951 to 1957. The show starred Lucille Ball, William Frawley, Desi Arnaz, and Vivian Vance. It is still considered highly rated by television critics and is consistently popular with television audiences. Additionally, it was one of the first American shows to air on British television in September 1955. Channel 4, the second terrestrial television network in the UK, repeated the series multiple times between 1983 and 1994. As of January 2015, the show was still the longest-running program in the Los Angeles area.

 

The first episode aired on October 15, 1951, and the show became one of the most popular in America for four of its six primetime seasons. It won five Emmy Awards, including Best Situation Comedy in 1954 and Best Actress in 1956.
